Gulf War Veteran Resource Pages Serving the Gulf War Veteran Community Worldwide Since 1994 22 YEARS SINCE OPERATION DESERT STORM WAR IN IRAQ (Mar 19, 2003 - Dec 15, 2011) on December 15, 2011 by United States Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. During the ceremony, the American battle flag was lowered and cased for return to the United States. Estimated casualties after nearly 9 years of war are 4,500 Americans and 100,000 Iraqis.
