The Shroud of Turin is a Forgery The Shroud of Turin is a Forgery   has become the single-most important religious relic on the planet. Said to be the cloth that was wrapped around Jesus of Nazareth after his crucifixtion it is not surprising that it has become so revered. The shroud does indeed contain the image of a man and many of the features on the cloth do show someone who was crucified. Is the body image on the shroud that of a crucified man from the 1st century, when Jesus lived, or is it a clever forgery? I must admit, seeing a real image of what Jesus really looked like would be a miraclulous event for me. Unfortunately, I am of the firm belief that what we have in the shroud is simply a fake. Whoever forged this relic must have known their stuff, for they did a great job of turning a few modern-day scientists into believers.Â
