AECbytes: Analysis, Research, and Reviews of AEC Technology Autodesk University 2013 and Graphisoft BIMx Docs This year’s Autodesk University, Autodesk’s annual user conference in the US, was held from Dec 3 to Dec 5 in Las Vegas, and as always, it was a great way to learn about the latest technology updates and upcoming developments from Autodesk, across all of the main industries it serves: buildings and infrastructure, manufacturing, and media and entertainment. It turns out that the event in Las Vegas was not the only Autodesk University held this year; it follows similar events held in five other locations throughout the world (Tokyo, Brazil, China, Germany, Moscow), which is a testament to the increasing global reach of Autodesk applications. The US event, however, continues to be the largest, with about 9,500 in-person attendees at last week’s event. While many more can watch recordings of the different sessions and classes online, the large in-person attendance indicates that users still find value in attending events like this in person, networking with other users, interacting with the product development teams, and checking out the third-party products and applications on display in the Exhibit Hall.
