The Kangaroo Hoppet is Australia's premier international cross country skiing event. It is held at Falls Creek on the last Saturday in August each year. The Kangaroo Hoppet is part of the Worldloppet series of long distance citizen races. It is run in conjunction with the 7 km Joey Hoppet and the 21 km Birkebeiner. Skiers can build up to the full 42 km over a number of seasons.
