After years of playing second fiddle to Lionel Messi, one of he top dribblers in the game, Cristiano has demonstrated he is top class, by humbly receiving his second Ballon d’Or in a tearful Fifa ceremony. The deserved win, no doubt ruffled a few feathers, especially those of Messi Fanboys who no doubt have had to get their daily dose after this one. But it was Ronaldo’s night, and most deservedly so, as he is the most well rounded footballer in the game today, a footballing giant who stands head and shoulders over his competetion. We know Cristiano Ronaldo is the best footballer in the world, there is no doubt in our minds, but there is still much to be done in terms of convincing the world that Lionel Messi is and has been the lesser of the two.
