Colombia July 11-29 (Armenia, Barranquilla, Bogotá, Cali, Manizales, Medellín, Pereira). Drawn 10 Jan 2001 in Bogotá. Canada and Mexico invited. In June-July 2001, the CONMEBOL had three meetings concerning the lack of security in Colombia. On Jun 28, the Copa América was moved from Colombia due to political problems; on Jun 30, the Copa América was returned to Colombia, but postponed to 2002; and finally on Jul 5, the original schedule was confirmed. Canada withdrew on Jul 6 and Argentina on Jul 10, Costa Rica and Honduras were invited instead.
