Michelle Kwan captured her fourth career and second World ladies figure skating title in 2001. She ranked second for most world titles by an U.S. woman with four, she is one title behind Carol Heiss. Michelle holds six consecutive World medals, it is the longest streak since Carol Heiss in 1955 to 1960. She has received Skating Magazine's Readers' Choice Award and was USOC Sportswoman of the Month in April. Michelle holds first place title in 2001 U.S. Championships, 2001 World Championships, 2001 Goodwill Games, 2001 Skate America. She finished second in the 2001 ISU Grand Prix Final, and third in the 2001 Skate Canada. She also represented the U.S at the 2002 Olympics.
