Jamie Sale and David Pelletier have been skating together since early 1998. They appeared in their first competition, Skate Canada, after skating together for only a matter of months -- yet they won the bronze medal in a field which included Shen and Zhao; Sargeant and Wirtz; Savard-Gagnon and Bradet. After Skate Canada, Jamie and David competed at the 1998 Masters on Ice and placed 4th in a very, very strong field. Jamie and David finished thier first season with another bronze at NHK Trophy being beaten only by Bereznaia/Sikharulidze and Shen/Zhao the silver medal at the Canadian Championships. They had a place on the World Team but because David had a back injury the team withdrew.
