Sri K Rajagopal popularly known as “Captain†in the golfing circles in India was born to Smt Lakshmi Ammal and Sri G Kuppuswamy Naidu on the 20th of August 1930. He completed his BSc (Textiles) from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science at USA. He began his career at the family run Lakshmi Mills and rose to be a textile pioneer of his times. K R was the Managing Director of Lakshmi Mills, Chairman of Vijayeswari Textiles Ltd. And was also the Promoter of several companies besides serving on the Boards of several companies.
