After a lengthy and hugely successful stint as Playing Convenor and Team Manager respectively, the duo of Denis Lavery and John Lawrie are to stand down at the end of this season. As players, both were highly regarded by opponents, but more especially by team mates, as being dependable and willing to give of their all on the pitch. That comittment was evident after they stopped playing 1st XV rugby and as they threw themselves into their off-field roles. Their elevation to committee roles was swift with John coaching both Colts and 1st XV prior to becoming club president, a post also held by Denis.
