Welcome to the U.S. Military Fencing Web Site! Every year the Counseil Internationale du Sport Militaire (CISM) holds the World Military Fencing Championships. These tournaments are world class competitions. The United States recently began participating in these events again after a long break stretching back to the 1970s. A US military fencing team competed at the 1st World Military Games (1995) in Rome, Italy. In May, 1997 a team competed in the 35th World Fencing Military Championships in the Netherlands. This team exemplified the CISM motto Friendship Through Sport by earning a special award for sportsmanship. Most recently, a team competed at the World Fencing Military Championships in Italy.
