Chad Kagy

Chad Kagy already had his training wheels off by the age of four. At eight he started racing BMX. When Kagy was only 17, he entered his  first pro competition, putting his name on the map. At the 2004 X Games, people called Chad the comeback kid after placing fourth. The reason for this was because he had broken his neck only 9 months before. In 2005, Kagy left behind his injuries and proved that he was definitely back. He placed third in the year-end Dew Cup standings and second at the X Games. In 2006, he improved from that even, and placed second at the AST Dew Tour, and won the X Games. After a very solid start to the 2007 season, Kagy was sidelined after suffering a collarbone injury. In 2008 and 2009 Kagy had very successful consistent seasons finishing 2nd place overall both years. 2010 proved to be another steady year for Kagy. Chad took home the gold medal in X Games and 2nd place overall for the Dew Tour standings. 2011 had a  2nd place finish at the first stop of the Dew Tour and a Bronze Medal at X Games in Big Air. 2012 was a busy year full of Nitro Circus Live Tours, X Games BIg Air & Vert and winning his first ever freestyle mountain bike event. 2013 has become a pivotal year for large events in action sports. ESPN expanded the X Games to six total events with four of them being summer X Games. Starting 2013 off with a very successful Nitro Circus Live Tour in New Zealand followed by a 2 1/2 week Teva mountain bike tour in New Zealand. X Games started with Foz Do Iguassu where Chad got a silver medal in Big Air. The next X Games in Barcelona, Spain was a monumental Vert event for Chad pulling the Front Flip flair for the first time. A few weeks later Chad stood on top of the podium with a gold medal in Munich, Germany for doing a Cliffhangar Flip to a Flair Tailwhip on the Big Air ramp.
