My name is Pooja and I am a survivor of adolescent sexual abuse. Based on my personal experience, I can say that sexual abuse is the most degrading and shameful kind of abuse that can be perpetrated on anyone. It evokes a myraid of responses in people, ranging from confusion, depression, pain and trauma to shame, guilt, anger, rage, self-loathing, powerlessness and helplessness. I have felt most or all of these emotions in the aftermath of the abuse. It is the anger and rage toward my abuser that inspired me to develop this webpage. I felt the strong urge to do something about the injustice meted out to me and this webpage has given me the medium to reach out to other survivors. If I can provide comfort and solace to one survivor that he or she is not alone, I will have taken a step in the right direction.
