Chuppahs and Judaic Silk Painting by Marlena Schwartzman Mazal tov and welcome to Silkhuppah.com. All chuppahs, ketubahs, bags and tabletop items are designed and created by Marlena Rubin Schwartzman. On the following pages there are samples of some of her work. These items can be ordered "as is" or customized for each client. Combining an instinctual understanding of color, design and textile with a deep commitment to the Jewish culture and heritage, the artist hand-paints each chuppah on 100% dupioni silk and resulting in heirloom quality. They are finished with beautiful laces and trims chosen specifically for each project. Also, tallit, tefillin and shofar bags as well as brit pillow shams and challah covers are custom designed and personalized. They are very meaningful gifts for very special people. Please go to the relevant pages for more details and descriptions. Do not expect to see a shopping cart anywhere on this site. All work is unique and created on a commissioned basis, designed in consultation with the client. Marlena strives to work within any budget and can usually provide a creative solution to almost any situation. Instead of spending thousands of dollars renting a floral chuppah that wilts within hours consider having a family heirloom created that will be used for many simchas to come. Instead of any run-of-the-mill velvet tallit or tefillin bag, consider having a bag created that will reflect the interests of the user or the parsha read on the Shabbat of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah or aufruf or even symbolism relating to the name.
