IN RETROSPECT: Islamic Schooling in Australia I have chosen the word schooling rather than the broad term education because in the Islamic view of the world there has been some form of Islamic education around since the time of Adam and Eve (peace be upon them both ). I would define Islamic Schooling to mean teaching the precepts of Islam in an institutional setting. This, especially in a country such as Australia, is a relatively modern phenomenon - as modern as the arrival of Muslims themselves.
