A Branch of the Ramakrishna Order of India February 18, 1836 - August 16, 1886 The Vedanta Society of Kansas City was founded in 1947 by Swami Satprakashananda. The swami had also founded the Vedanta Society of St Louis in 1938 and was its head until his passing in 1979. Swami Satprakashananda was a disciple of Swami Brahmananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna (1836-1886). This Society is a subcenter of the Vedanta Society of St Louis and is affiliated with  the Ramakrishna Order of India.
