Tabernacle United Methodist Church "Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors." Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Over the six weeks of Lent, Christians have traditionally emphasized spiritual disciplines to prepare their hearts for the difficult days of Holy Week and the amazing day of Easter. Becky and I are preparing a series of sermons for the season of Lent. This series will emphasize the discipline of “walking.” The first “Walking” sermon will be on Transfiguration Sunday, “Walking With the Son of God.” In this sermon, we introduced of the idea of transformation based on the scripture lesson from Matthew 17:1-9. On Ash Wednesday, I will be preaching at Trinity UMC for our community service; based on Joel 2:1-2, 12-17, the sermon is “Walking the Walk.”
