Sandhills Emmaus Community :: Home The Emmaus Board has a serious matter to talk with the Community about. The last Men's Walk (October 3 - 6) was almost cancelled due to not having enough applications to have an Emmaus men's walk. The Community came together at the last minute in a true spirit and as you know there was a men's walk #75. There is a men's walk now scheduled for the spring, April 3 - 6. At this time there are only 9 applications for men for this walk. These are not confirmed. The deadline for getting applications to Ann and Paul Coble, Registrars, is March 1. If there are not enough at that time, the men's walk will be cancelled and the Community will lose a $500.00 deposit to Camp Pee Dee. Upper Room mandates no less than 20 pilgrims for an Emmaus Walk - we have to have more than 20 confirmed applications because some back out at the last minute. Doug Newton, Lay Director for this Walk, has the team together and they have had at least one training with talks prepared. We are asking that the Community prayerfully consider sponsorship for this men's walk # 77.
