The beautiful season of Lent begins this week on Ash Wednesday. This may sound strange, but it is one of my favorite church seasons. The need to quietly reflect, take an inventory of our life, offer small sacrifices for Jesus—all resound in this modern age of distraction, immediate gratification, and consumption. It is a time in which we prepare ourselves for the Holiest days of all time, the Sacred Triduum (3 Days), the Passion, Death and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
