Welcome to the Monastery of St. Clare at Kiryu, Japan. We are a community of 13 sisters (ten professed, one junior, one postulant and one aspirant). All are Japanese except the Abbess, Sister Mary Pius, O.S.C. Sister Mary Pius helped found the monastery in 1965 with seven other sisters from the Poor Clares in Boston. We hope you enjoy your visit through these web pages.
