Description: | Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (LPTS), in Louisville, KY, has been educating men and women to participate in the redemptive ministry of Jesus Christ in the world for more than 150 years. Louisville Seminary offers the following degrees: Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT), Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) and Doctor of Ministry (DMin). Field education is an integral part of preparation for ministry at the seminary, where students have supervised experiences in congregations and agencies. Louisville Seminary President Michael Jinkins has helped guide the seminary to adopt a new strategic plan, Covenant for the Future, whereby the seminary will provide tuition-free education to students by 2015 and housing at no cost by 2021. With a vision to provide transformative theological education for the practice of ministry in an increasingly diverse world, Louisville Seminary also offers the Doors to Dialogue and Black Church Studies programs, which provide students and faculty opportunities for greater multicultural and interfaith understanding and cooperation. Louisville Seminary partners with the University of Louisville to offer the prestigious Grawemeyer Award in Religion. Special services on campus include a Counseling Center, with services provided by supervised MAMFT students to individuals and families within the community. Located in a beautiful setting off Alta Vista Road with such landmarks Caldwell Chapel and Gardencourt, the campus is also a perfect site for weddings, receptions and special occasions. Laws Lodge, a multi-purpose facility offers year-round conference and retreat meeting space as well as overnight accommodations. |
