Description: A brief illustrated history of this comparatively modest cathedral. Information on services and events. Photograph of the remains of a Saxon preaching cross.
2014 has already proven to be a really exciting year for Bradford! Not only do we have the transformation of the City with the Westfield development happening before our eyes (and more investment coming into the City centre on the back of it) but we also have the announcement that the Bishop of Bradford, the Rt Revd Nick Baines, will be the first Bishop of Leeds in the new Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales. We know Bishop Nick to be a great communicator and we shall look forward to working with him and the other cathedrals and dioceses in our new life together. Suddenly it feels as if there is a lot of energy around in this City and the Cathedral is looking forward to playing its part in the new Diocese and regeneration of the City. Bradford Cathedral stands for a Christian faith that is significantly engaged with church and society but as a building it is also a wonderfully welcoming and prayerful space for all people.
