SAN FRANCISCO, FEB. 15, 2014:  “By no means did I suffer the worst sort of persecution,” said Sattar Khoshkhoo humbly during a gathering at the San Francisco Baha’i Center on February 15. Describing his childhood as a Baha’i in Iran where persecution of the Baha’i community is official government policy, Khoshkhoo said, “I didn’t have feces thrown at me; my teachers and classmates didn’t beat me up after school; I was never in prison — but my father and grandfather were. Their homes were burned and my grandfather was killed. Hundreds of Baha’is have been in prison, hundreds have been tortured and killed or driven out of their villages, only because of being Baha’i.”
