The Nature of Prejudice - a psychoanalytic analysis. Dr. Ron Aviram will talk about the nature of prejudice, its causes and nature. This talk is presented by the Alumni Association of the Organizational Analysis Program at the William Alanson White Psychoanalytic Institute. Seminar begins at 7pm, ends at 9 pm. Networking begins at 6:30 pm. Please RSVP if you plan to attend, to [email protected] Ron Aviram, Ph.D. is Instructor in Clinical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is Supervisor of Psychotherapy at New York Presbyterian Hospital and is a graduate of the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology. Dr. Aviram is author of The Relational Origins of Prejudice: A Convergence of Psychoanalytic and Social Cognitive Perspectives published by Jason Aronson Press. He has published articles about the effect of stigma on the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions, as well as the relevance of integrating concepts from psychoanalysis and social psychology. He has a private practice in New York City.
