YMCA to Close the Early Learning and Development Centre in Shakespeare The YMCA has announced the closure of its Early Learning and Development Centre in Shakespeare. In 2009, the YMCA was asked to assume the operation of the former Shakespeare Day Care centre when it ceased operation. The YMCA was able to fulfill that request and serve the needs of the community. With the addition of Full Day Learning, the need for preschool (ages 3-5) care is no longer necessary as these children are now in school. The closure will be effective June 27, 2014. Plans to accommodate children are in place.
