From 2012 to 2013, overall homelessness in Memphis-Shelby County decreased by 12.5 percent and chronic homelessness among individuals decreased by 17 percent. Community stakeholders identified an increase in the supply of Permanent Supportive Housing, prioritization of chronic homelessness, and conversion of transitional housing as instrumental in these decreases.
