A life-long advocate and feminist, Diane's pioneering work in police officer-involved domestic violence has resulted in thousands of advocates learning how to safely help survivors, and untold numbers of battered women knowing “they are not alone, they are not exaggerating, and they are certainly not crazy.†In 1996, while director of counseling for a community domestic violence agency, Diane created a unique program to provide specialized counseling, legal, and advocacy services for survivors of officer-involved domestic violence. She has trained community advocates, prosecutors, and law enforcement in the U.S. and Canada, helped professionals define systemic advocacy issues, and contributed thousands of hours of counseling. Diane now focuses her efforts on writing and advocacy.
