Description: A non-profit based in New Jersey which provides a humane retirement for Thoroughbred race horses at the end of their careers. TRF runs horse care programs which allow prison inmates and juvenile offenders to work with these animals.
Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation is the largest equine sanctuary in the world devoted to the rescue, retirement, rehabilitation and retraining of Thoroughbred horses no longer able to compete on the racetrack.  Over 4,000 horses have come through our programs and we currently care for 950 nationwide.  More than 1,000 Thoroughbreds have been adopted out to loving homes.  At re-training farms, we prepare racehorses for adoption as riding and companion horses.
