Madison County District Attorney - Robert L. Broussard Pre-Trial Intervention Programs Welcome to the Madison County District Attorney's Office Web site he District Attorney of the 23rd Judicial Circuit is the Chief Law Enforcement Official in Madison County who represents the people of the State of Alabama in prosecuting all felony and some misdemeanor criminal cases which occur within Madison County. He employs a staff of twenty-five Assistant District Attorneys to support him in his duties which are specifically enumerated by Alabama Law. The District Attorney and his Assistants are prohibited by law from giving legal advice to the general public or acting on any private legal matter. Legal consultation with the District Attorney is limited to victims and witnesses who are involved with criminal cases pending in Madison County. The District Attorney’s office works closely with every component of law enforcement and the courts to seek justice for crime victims in Madison County. For their own protection, criminal defendants are strongly advised not to contact the District Attorney's Office, except through counsel.
