Nuclear Information and Resource Service - NIRS NO CONFIDENCE IN NRC RADWASTE POLICY NRC held 12 meetings across the country last Fall to hear the public's comments on radioactive waste policy. Currently, the agency is prohibited from issuing new reactor licenses and license renewals--a federal court had no confidence in that policy. We don't either. The licensing moratorium should be permanent.
