Description: Argues that assisted suicide discriminates against the disabled and other devalued populations.
CIN - A Covert Prejudice by PJ King, RN As a child, Evan was neglected by his parents. They divorced when he was 6 and he went to live with his aunt, who was an alcoholic. He fared poorly in school, where he seemed unable to control himself in the classroom, earning punishment from his teachers and ridicule from his classmates. When he entered high school, he quickly fell into the company of ne'er-do-well kids interested more in having a good time than in preparing for the future. He began to dress in sloppy clothing, developed an insolent swagger like that of the crowd he hung out with, and before long was arrested for dealing drugs. By the time he was a junior in high school, he had attempted suicide twice. He dropped out before he reached his senior year.
