• Annual Holiday Appeal - 2013 • Resident & Family Annual Holiday Christmas Dinner on December 12, 2013 CMS - CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announces a new program to increase quality in Nursing Facilities. The Lutheran Home at Kane is one of one-hundred-forty-five across the nation selected to participate in a partnership with UPMC Community Provider Services.   Linda Carlson, CEO announced that this initiative in the form of a grant from CMS and is intended to ensure the best possible care for residents and enhance the level of collaboration with hospitals and other service providers. In an effort to help reduce avoidable hospitalizations among nursing home residents, the organization will be provided on-site services and support. “ I am very proud that the Lutheran Home has been accepted into this program and can serve as an advocate for our clients and be in a better position as changes to the reimbursement system.â€
