Description: The story of Fortune was an African American man enslaved in a Connecticut farming community, in Waterbury, includes curriculum materials and student activities.
Lesson plans, reading lists and hands-on activities developed during the Mattatuck Museum Teachers’ Institute in the summer of 2004. A permanent exhibit which opened in March 2003. The kiosk includes short videos of Fortune’s skeleton being examined by anthropologists.
