NAVIGATING THROUGH WORLD WAR II Hello to all surfers interested in World War II and aviation. That's my portrait below, taken in 1944. I may sometimes fancy that I still resemble that young man, but I'm halfway through my eighth decade. When I look in the mirror I see a bearded, thinner face, roughed by time, but the story I tell is his.
