Description: The diary of Lieutenant Victor Borgonon of the Suffolk Regiment for January 1918 to August 1919, covering his service in Salonika.
Salonika Diary:1918 - Lt V E Borgonon Diary of Lt Victor Edward Borgonon (1882-1966) Commissioned, 30th October 1917, into the Suffolk Regiment, Lt Borgonon previously served briefly on the Western Front in France as a private soldier of the Middlesex Regiment. We know he was a gas casualty on the front but this could not have been too serious as he was subsequently posted to Salonika, regarded at the time to be a suitable posting for soldiers returning to active serice after convalescence.
