Description: Provides a free version of Bob Myers' childhood memoir about growing up in the 1950s in the shadow of the Hanford A-Bomb plant.
“Bobby and the A-Bomb Factory” is my first published book, a work of historical autobiography, available under the Creative Commons license. Bobby was born in the middle of the Cold War in the shadow of the big A-bomb factory which employed his father, a poor farm boy made good, This was the factory that made the Nagasaki bomb. Stumbling through childhood, Bobby is unaware that the area where he is growing up was once the home of the proud Plateau Indian culture, sharing with the bomb factory a deep dependence on the mighty Columbia River coursing through eastern Washington.
