African American History: Welcome This project documents a selection of important events in African American history, beginning with the case in 1857 and ending with the implementation of school desegregation plans in the 1970s. The text is entirely original, culled from various school projects and papers that I wrote between 1995 and 1997. It is by no means complete -- there are some major gaps -- but I am providing it to the Internet community in hopes that future students will not have as much difficulty locating information about African American history as I did when I researched my projects.
