20th Regiment Arkansas Infantry. The 20th Arkansas Infantry was organized at DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, on April 9, 1862, with ten companies of volunteers from central and southwest Arkansas. Initially designated as the 22nd Arkansas Infantry, it was reorganized at Corinth, Mississippi, on May 13, 1862; and redesignated as the 20th Arkansas Infantry, in order to avoid confusion with McCord
