Description: Treatise of political jokes form Alan Dundes' collection.
Proof positive that the candidates aren always the biggest jokes. Alan Dundes is a professor of anthropology and folklore at the University of California, Berkeley. Among his scholarly pursuits, he studies vulgar jokes and other important developments in American culture. We asked him to make a list of the best political jokes of the last 20 years. He agreed, though noted an exception to the concepts of ã20,ä ãbest,ä and ãjokes.ä He also alerted us that the jokes he studies are more likely to be from an Irish pub in Roxbury than from Jay Lenoâs Tonight Show. They can be crude. After we solemnly swore not to laugh in the wrong places, he surrendered the following treatise.
