The Jewish-American Hall of Fame was founded by Mel Wacks in 1969 at the Magnes Museum, and became a division of the American Jewish Historical Society in 2001 and the web site came under the auspices of the American Numismatic Society in 2012. Over a million visitors a year take the virtual tour through 500 years of Jewish-American history -- from the Jews who helped Columbus to Barbra Streisand -- illustrated by medals commissioned by the JAHF.
