Description: Motivating, uplifting, encouraging, fun site which shows how being disabled is a challenge which can enhance the quality of life when a person tries. Scouting for kids in wheelchairs, snow skiing, feelings, and elmo.
People often ask me what I do in my free time, and does my wheelchair limit my activities? Hopefully this will answer the questions and help people see that my life is truly awsome! When you cannot stand or walk, your arms become your freedom. Although I have limited grip strength in my hands, I can maneuver the outriggers by duct taping my gloves to the handles. To turn I simply lean to the side and guide the ski with the outrigger. To stop, make a fast hard turn and dig in the base ski... pretty much like a hockey player stops.
