I have created hundreds of individual windsock designs, some remaining on the basement floor and others surviving all these years. During this period I have used several different nylon fabrics in their construction. I have settled on what I believe is the most durable fabric that is currently produced. This is 200 denier "SolarMax" nylon by DuPont. It is treated with an Ultra Violet inhibitor--in other words, it is fade resistant. This fabric is not to be confused with the fabric used in most Chinese import windsocks.
