Welcome to Arriero Zapotec Rugs Welcome to Arriero Zapotec Rugs. My name is Pantaleon Ruiz Martinez, Master Zapotec Weaver and founder of Arriero Rugs. My family and I are from Teotitlan Del Valle, a small village in the state of Oaxaca located in the southwestern part of Mexico. We dedicate ourselves to hand-weaving Zapotec rugs (Tapetes), a tradition passed down from generation to generation from our ancestors in the Pre-Columbian era.
