Bygone Reflections - Cut and Pierced Lampshades Let BYGONE REFLECTIONS light up your life! Sylvia Racine has been creating her unique cut and pierced paper lampshades for over fifteen years and now calls Cambridge, Ontario her home. Each shade is handcrafted, delicately painted or unpainted, with particular attention given to detail. Giving old bases a new look by creating a custom made lampshade is one of her specialties. Sylvia paints using the technique called 'reverse painting'. This means that the lampshade is painted with a light wash from the inside...and only when the light is turned on, can one see the beautiful glow of the various colours.
