Nuclear/High Energy Seminar Abstracts 2003-2004 Nuclear/High Energy Seminar Abstracts First results from elastic scattering of polarized protons at a cms energy of 200 GeV at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at BNL will be shown. An overview of the RHIC complex with respect to the polarized proton programme, including polarimetry, will be given and the goals of the spin programme be presented. The focus will be on the elastic scattering experiment pp2pp, studying the spin (in-)dependent contributions to the elastic scattering amplitude.
