Illustrations of Incidents in Tunnel Construction - H.&M. R.R. CO. On March 11th, 1909 the engineering firm of Jacobs and Davies hosted a dinner at Sherry's for the directors and officers of the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad Company to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the the joining of New York with New Jersey via the Hudson Tubes, as well as the occasion of the completion of the last tunnel, completing both the midtown and downtown lines.
