Robert Maynard Hutchins Distinguished Service Professor Department of Political Science at the Tenth Annual Graduation Exercises Basic Program of Liberal Education for Adults Leo Strauss was born in Germany in 1899. Since coming to the United States in 1938 he has been professor of political science and philosophy at the New School for Social Research and professor of political science at the University of Chicago.
