MARITIME ARCHAEOLOGY AND HISTORY OF THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS FOUNDATION THE ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM ON MARITIME ARCHAEOLOGY AND HISTORY OF HAWAI'I AND THE PACIFIC The Maritime Archaeology and History of the Hawaiian Islands Foundation (MAHHI) is chiefly concerned with research, training, and education in maritime elements of submerged cultural resources in Hawai`i and the Pacific. Submerged cultural resources, primarily shipwrecks and underwater aircraft crash sites, represent a largely untouched resource in the Pacific  Basin. Our goal is to contribute to our common cultural heritage in the Pacific through on-site research, hands-on training and raising awareness through community education.
