The MacLaurin Society, named after the Scottish mathematician , has been the University of Glasgow's Maths and Statistics Society since the nineteen fifties. This year we are sponsored by the Our main focus is on organising events for our members, from traditional cheese and wine nights to pubcrawls or careers information events and puzzle nights, and in doing so we aim to create a friendly supportive atmosphere in the department. These events provide a great chance to meet more students, and staff, who are happy to share their experiences studying maths and stats and answer any questions you might have. You don't have to be studying maths or statistics to join, membership is open to anyone with mathematical interests!
