Description: Protecting and restoring marine resources and habitats in Washington State.
Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Initiative Marine Debris Cleanup Program Launched The Northwest Straits Commission is working with the Dept. of Ecology's Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) to clean up Puget Sound shoreline sites where there is an abundance of potentially damaging trash such as plastics, styrofoam, fishing net materials and treated wood debris. We welcome Paul Argites who was hired to launch this program. Paul will be gathering information from each of the Marine Resource Committees about work needed at particular cleanup sites, and working with the WCC to schedule Veterans work crews to perform the clean up. If you would like to nominate a beach for this work, please contact Paul at argites @nwstraits.or or 360-428-1043.
